To be very honest, my children aren't big gamers. We have a Nintendo DS that we use for travel and a Wii that is gathering dust. We aren't ready to purchase violent games for either system so the children have used the Wii for the occasional bowling game.
Since they have not shown an interest we have not purchased any new games and the Wii has been tucked away in our media consul.
This past weekend, we had a chance to play Backyard Baseball 2010. It was the perfect time to introduce a baseball game since our two eldest ages 6 and 5 are starting T-Ball next month. The video game had realistic baseball action which even announced the kid's names. My daughter spent most of the time picking her team and changing the player options and my son got really into the batting. I thought it was easy to bat as the Wii-mote was pretty accurate. Even our youngest, age 2, had her chance to swing a couple of times before it was ripped out of her hands, by the eager older siblings.
I thought the graphics were incredible, the stadiums were so realistic. There are many options which leaves the opportunity for endless amounts of play time. It was a nice video game for children ages 5+ that are bored with the standard bowling/tennis the Wii comes with. I have a feeling that our Wii might get used a little more on future rainy days. Backyard Baseball was a big hit!
Backyard Baseball will be released April 7th, 2009. I have ONE COPY to give away to one of you. Leave me one comment before April 2nd and you can have it in your hands before anyone else!!! You can tweet about the giveaway and leave me your 2nd comment with the tweet. Good luck.

We love our wii and would LOVE the baseball game!!!
My kids love the Wii - the most violent thing we have is Lego Star Wars, which isn't that violent since everything is made of Legos. Otherwise, they like teh sports stuff.
My two oldest kids are 7 and 6 and will also be starting t-ball in a few weeks.
Maybe I'll try to do my first tweet to try to win this!

This would be a fun game to have. I guess I can say good luck to myself. :-)
My son has been begging for this Wii game ever since he saw the first ad... I love all the Wii games that get the kids off the couch and anything that that gets him ready for ball season is even better!
We haven't purchased any games for our Wii since we bought it either! Would love to have a new one!
We would love to get that! We are all about sports here!!

Don't have a Wii, but will buy the girls one if we win the game, it sounds great! Their friends here have Korean Wii, which is quite different. I'm a reader, not a commenter ... and have been reading your blog since (my long lost friend)anymommy has gotten me mommy-blog addicted! Your on my reader right along with her ...
We love our Wii! BUT, we are a bit tired (or maybe just Mama is?) of Mario Kart, so we'd love a new game!
MY.SON.WOULD.LOVE.THIS!!!!

Oh! My husband...oops I mean son would LOVE backyard baseball! He is very excited for t-ball as well and asked me if there would be fireworks after he hits a ball..."like at the big stadium downtown." I reminded him that the fireworks scared him so I had asked that they be eliminated from his games :)
I have to admit - I would never play this. But my husband would love it! (and it might buy me some quite time at night to catch up on some blogging)
my four year old will probably beat me at this, like she does everything else!!
Ooo! Me! Pick me!
My hubby would love this!
Dang the tweet entries...I still haven't signed up yet!
My girls would love this game, recently moving to the midwest from FL, I am constantly looking for indoor activities :)
My boys would love this game!! Sounds fun
My boyfriend would love this! I would love to surprise him with this! I hope I win, I hope I win! :-) Thanks for the opportunity.
This sounds awesome. I too have my boys signed up for t-ball and coach pitch baseball which start next month. They would go nuts if they got this game. I wonder if the Easter Bunny would bring it?
All of my kids would love this!

I would love this for my boys and my hubby. They are just starting to use WII and this would be the perfect game.
We would love this for our wii. We have used Backyard Baseball for the computer until we got the wii. It's about as far as I go with video games.

My little guy loves our Wii and starts coach-pitch T-ball tonight! This has to be a sign, right?? =)
I think the girls would like this. They like the repetitive games, this one would be perfect. We have "Wii-kends," which means that the kids are only allowed to play Wii when it is Wii-kend. LOL
Here's my Twitter entry! =)

My grandson is turning 5 soon and is just getting interested in Tee Ball, so I'm hoping this Wii Baseball game would be fun for him and his dad!
My 5 yr old needs all the T-ball practice he can get. Our first actual practice he was the one eating dirt in the outfield...NICE!!. I love our babysitter..I mean Wii.. ;)
We could definitely use the batting practice at our house!!
Thanks for reviewing this... I've been looking for a "family" wii game. If I don't win - I'm definately going to purchase it! sounds like it would be a good party game too!
